Scripture Reading: Hebrews 2:10

“For in bringing many sons and daughters to glory, it was entirely appropriate that God—for whom and through whom all things exist—should make the pioneer of their salvation perfect through sufferings.”

As I reflected on Hebrews 2:10 this past Sunday, I was struck by the profound truth that suffering is not merely a part of life but an essential element of our journey with Christ. The author of Hebrews reminds us that even Jesus, our Savior, was made perfect through suffering. This truth challenges our perspective on pain and adversity.

In our lives, suffering often feels like an unwelcome guest. We may question God’s goodness, wondering why a loving Father allows pain. Yet, as we consider Christ’s journey, we see that suffering shapes us. It deepens our faith and creates a pathway to glory, just as it did for our Lord. He walked the road of suffering to lead us to our own sanctification.

Like a craftsman forging a blade, God uses the heat and pressure of our trials to mold us into His likeness. Spurgeon once said, “I have learned to kiss the waves that throw me upon the rock of ages.” This week, I invite you to consider your own suffering. What lessons is God teaching you through your trials?

Personal Challenge:
Take a moment each day this week to reflect on your struggles. Ask God how He is shaping you through them. Write down your thoughts and prayers, seeking clarity and understanding. Embrace the discomfort, knowing that it draws you closer to Christ, who understands your pain.

This week, let’s commit to trusting God in our trials, recognizing that every moment of suffering is an opportunity for growth. As you face challenges, remember that you are not alone; Christ, the pioneer of your faith, walks with you every step of the way.

Next Step:
Identify one specific area of suffering in your life and pray for God’s strength to endure and learn from it. Trust that He is planting seeds of growth, even in the valleys, as we saw in the lyrics of Samantha Ebert's song, Flowers.

May this be a week of reflection and transformation as we journey together in faith. Amen.
